Little Radiant Stories started with my daughter.
When she began struggling with fears that felt very real to her, I did what most parents would do. I tried to explain why she didn't need to be afraid. I reasoned with her, reassured her, and tried to show her that everything was going to be okay.
It didn't work.
Then I started telling her stories.
Instead of talking about her fear, I could tell her about a character facing something similar. Suddenly, we could explore the problem together without making it about her. The lesson had room to sink in on its own.
So I kept telling stories.
Eventually, I started writing them down. Little Radiant Stories grew from those stories I made for my own family, and now we're sharing them with yours.

We believe stories can help children understand things that are difficult to explain directly.
A good story gives a child a little distance from a problem. Instead of being told what they should think or how they should feel, they get to watch someone else face a challenge, make choices, and discover what happens next.
Stories also invite children to imagine, ask questions, and make connections for themselves.
That's what we want Little Radiant Stories to be: stories children enjoy and parents can use to start conversations about the little challenges that come with growing up.
